Nursing & Therapy Services of Colorado Launches Respite Services
June 5, 2018
Colorado Springs, Colorado – Nursing & Therapy Services of Colorado announced today the launch of respite services for its pediatric clientele caregivers effective June 1, 2018. Respite care is a service provided to an eligible client on a short-term basis because of the need for relief of those persons usually giving care. Respite services are designed to allow a caregiver to do anything independently from getting extra sleep to going to a movie.
“At the end of 2017, NTSOC did a needs assessment survey to see if there were any gaps in what the special needs community is receiving. It became clear that our caregivers were looking for a solution for respite services,” said Lisa Davis, CEO of NTSOC. “It is our mission to serve the pediatric special needs community in Southern Colorado, and we jumped at the chance to serve our audience better.”
To receive respite services, a client needs to have respite services on either Children’s Extensive Support Waiver (CES) or the Supported Living Services (SLS) service plan drafted by a Community Centered Board case manager. The respite service provider needs to be a Program Approved Service Agency (PASA)-approved agency. NTSOC is a PASA-approved agency.
Respite can only be provided by an individual who is not the parent, guardian or primary caregiver of the person who requires care.
More information is on the NTSOC website.
