Per the Executive Order issued by Governor Jared Polis on March 18, 2020, all Certified Nurse Aide Training Programs can, for the time being, complete the required clinical portion of training via simulation or in-house instead of at a facility. Once a student is found proficient and completed theory, lab and-in house/simulated clinical, they can then work and be paid as a CNA while they wait to take the exam. Per Board Policy 10-07 nurse aide training graduates can work for 120 days as a CNA while they wait to take and pass the state exam. This 120 days/4 months should be enough time to get testing back up and running. On April 14, this directive changed to 150 days.
